Farnsworth

Privacy

Farnsworth is made by Greenwich Steps LLC. This page covers two separate things: this website, and the Farnsworth application. They collect different data and are worth reading separately.

This website

If you join the waitlist we store your email address, the date you joined, and a short label describing where you came from: a campaign tag from the link you clicked, or the domain name of the site that linked you, or the word "direct" if neither applies. That is the whole record.

We do not store your IP address. The signup form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person rather than a script submitted it. The data is held in Cloudflare D1 in our own account.

We will use your address to tell you when Farnsworth is available, and for nothing else. We will not sell it or share it. Ask us at hello@greenwichsteps.com and we will delete it.

The Farnsworth application

Farnsworth runs entirely on your Mac and connects directly to Google. Greenwich Steps operates no server that receives, stores, or processes your mail. There is no account to create with us and no copy of your mailbox on our side, because there is no our side.

Your messages, attachments and search index are stored locally on your Mac. Your Google credentials are held in the macOS Keychain. Removing the app and revoking its access in your Google account settings ends the relationship completely.

Farnsworth asks Google for three permissions:

Farnsworth does not request permission to permanently delete mail. Google's use of the data you grant access to is governed by Google's own terms.

We do not use your mail to train machine learning models. We could not: we never receive it.
